There are a million things to do in your business. If you don’t know the essentials to focus on, you will find yourself working on the unimportant, get stuck spinning your wheels, and stall your business.
Today’s technology allows some of the most important parts of our businesses, like online marketing, to be automated. Automated! Yep, here’s how digital marketing automation can help you.
In my last post I had revealed the 6 key focus points that is the secret for all successful entrepreneurs. Make sure you read it if you missed it somehow.
And the beautiful thing about these 6 key focus points?
You can automate the whole process!
Yep! That’s right.
Today I’m going to show you the funnel that your styling business, and any business for that matter, must have.
And it really doesn’t matter what you sell online.
Do you sell your own information products? Like a course on how your clients can style themselves? You need this funnel.
Do you promote someone else’s product as an affiliate (like clothes, makeup, accessories, etc.)? You need this funnel.
Do you have professional services or consulting? (Yeah, you do! That’s what personal styling is.) You totally need this funnel.
Do you have a real world business or something physical? You really need this funnel.
And the reason is because this funnel hits all the 6 key areas of focus that we talked about in the last training article.
Great! Uh, what’s a funnel?
Ha! Okay, let’s briefly touch on what a funnel is before we break this funnel down.
Funnels have lots of different names: “marketing funnel”, “conversion funnel”, “marketing pipeline”, “sales funnel”, “sales pipeline”, “sales process”, “sales cycle”… or any number of other terms that all describe the exact same thing.
A funnel consists of the various steps that cold prospects (people who’ve never heard of you) will seamlessly take to move them from stranger to a buyer of your service or product.
A solid conversion funnel anticipates each step necessary to lead the prospect to the conversion.
There are tons of different ways to do funnels. I’m sharing one basic funnel with you now.
The key to this campaign, this funnel, are four key sections:
The first key section is the Opt-in and Capture sequence.
The second key section is the Value sequence.
The third key section is the Sale sequence.
And the fourth key section is the Deadline sequence.
This is the $21,708 in 6 days campaign.
This is a screen shot from an entrepreneur who implemented this funnel. These numbers are from her Google Analytics account.
This was her third time testing this funnel, so she already had some practice doing it.
During this small test she received 2,588 visits to her website. That’s a pretty reasonable number.
And check this out.
Out of those visits, she got 68 sales. She sells various video trainings on how her customers can style themselves.
If we look at the revenue right here you can see that she earned $21,708.
So in 6 days she got 2,588 visits, 68 sales, and $21,708 in revenue.
Not bad!
And the best part? This means that her campaign had a conversion rate of 2.62% and an earnings per click (EPC) of $8.39.
Those are great numbers! If you can get anything above 1% for your conversion rate, that’s awesome.
Now she can scale up, get more traffic, and best of all, put the campaign on autopilot so it runs everyday automatically.
So let’s go over each of these sections in detail.
The Opt-In / Capture Sequence gets people on your Email List (which is super important).
You can use a simple opt-in page like this:
You send traffic to the opt-in page and offer something of value for free. In this case, it is a Free Glam Guide being offered in exchange for the visitor’s email so that they can join your email list.
As soon as they opt-in, they are going to land in your Value Sequence which begins with Value Video #1.
The Value Sequence
Now they are in the Value Sequence where you are going to, you guessed it, provide massive value and help your audience!
The way you do this is by helping solve a specific pain or help them achieve a specific gain with a video (or email, article, or PDF. Doesn’t have to be a video but I’ll use it in this example).
Below is a sample page template for your video from Get Response, my automated email and landing page provider. As you can see it’s really simple.
If you use Get Response, or another email automation provider, they will offer you hundreds of different templates like these to host your video on.
Just a headline, a video, and then a button underneath the video. Easy peasy.
This one video uses a very simple sales framework with only three moving parts.
In part one, you want to educate and provide value.
In part two, you’re going to transition from providing value to making a valuable offer.
And in part three, you make your valuable offer.
And the way you do this is by simply letting your audience know if they want even more results, here’s your service (or product) you have, here’s what it’ll do for them, and here’s what you want them to do next.
The Sale Sequence is mixed in with the Value Sequence! Savvy…
When your audience clicks on the button (it says ‘Enroll Now’ in this example) they reach your order page and can purchase your service or product.
This is why I recommend this campaign to all my students!
It fast tracks the whole process by combining the Value sequence and the Sale sequence together to get maximum results!
So, what happens if your customer doesn’t purchase right away?
And let’s face it, that’s the vast majority of people.
Most people won’t purchase your product or service immediately. That’s normal.
So we have a backup plan in place. You simply repeat the process of providing awesome value TWO MORE TIMES! So you’re still in the Value Sequence offering even more free value.
And you do this by offering a 2nd video the next day or two, and then a 3rd video a few days after that.
So, in the first 3-6 days of the campaign you’ve provided 3 valuable pieces of content and you also made a valuable offer at the end of each video to help your tribe get even more results.
The Deadline Sequence
Now, to finish off the campaign and to maximize your conversions, you can add a real Deadline sequence.
You could use a 2-3 day deadline. This means they now have 2-3 days to purchase your services or (products) before the offer expires.
This is very powerful.
Remember, you always want to be genuine and have a real reason why an offer will expire.
Don’t you dare say something will expire if it doesn’t.
Don’t. Do. That.
Ever.
As you can see, it’s very simple but really powerful, especially when you then place the campaign on autopilot. It can work for you day in, day out.
You just have to use an autoresponder service and landing page service (like Get Response) to automate these steps.
Now, I know we’ve covered a lot of material in these last 3 training emails.
Don’t worry! You don’t have to implement this all at once.
Even my most advanced students pick and choose what to implement in their business at the right time.
It’s impossible to put all of this together all at one time. It’s about baby steps.
Most importantly, it’s about taking action.
I’ll tell you this, the formula works. It’s worked for me, it’s worked for my students, and it’s worked for tens of thousands of other business owners who implement it in their businesses.
And the reason this all works is because you’re providing immense value to your market first. They’re getting to know you. You’re dating them. You’re not asking them to marry you right away by asking them to purchase your products/services before they know you.
So, with that, I hope you’ve enjoyed the 3rd part of this training series where we looked at how to automate all the key points you need in your business to turn your audience into buyers.
And once you have those buyers, you’ll want to ensure that you deliver awesome personal shopping service to them!
Have you ever thought to automate certain processes in your business?
Did you even know that you could do that?
In the comments below, let me know what you love about automation or what you’re confused about. I want to know what’s stumping people and what’s helping them!
